Barbados is widely known for its pristine beaches. Because of Barbados’ unique position, there’s really something for everyone – whether you prefer to just relax, surf or snorkel, you will be spoilt for choice. Mullins
Mullins is one of the most popular beaches in Barbados. This beach is a favourite for many international celebrities, who are often spotted here. Located on the island’s west coast, its calm blue water and unspoilt sand make this the perfect location for just lounging under an umbrella or taking relaxing dips in the water. There are also water sports such as jet skis available and if you want to grab a bite during your time at the beach, there is a conveniently located bar serving up your favourite cocktails and snacks.
Brighton Beach
This beach is located on the west coast of the island, just outside of Bridgetown. If you’re looking for a beach with conditions suitable for swimming and relaxing dips, this is one of your best options. It is also good for lounging and quiet picnics. There is also a convenient beach bar at this location serving cocktails and delicious local foods. Don’t forget to look out for the local vendors for a snow cone to help cool you down – some even offer rum snow cones! At the end of a relaxing day, this beach is one of the prime locations to take in the remarkable Barbados sunset.
Accra Beach
Accra Beach, also commonly known as Rockley, is located on the south coast of Barbados. This is a popular choice for many visitors to the island because it is a wide stretch of beach. You can swim and frolic here but, because it has moderate waves and swells, it is the perfect location for boogie boarding and windsurfing. It’s also a good choice for snorkeling. Just below this beach, starts the ever-popular south coast boardwalk, which runs approximately 1 kilometer towards Bridgetown.
Bathsheba
Located on the east coast of Barbados, the picturesque Bathsheba is a popular picnic spot. While it is not ideal for swimming, you can still take a dip during low tide. Most popular at Bathsheba is “Soup Bowl” which is a surfer’s paradise as this side of the island is known for bigger waves. Soup Bowl is suitable for experienced surfers, while beaches on the south coast would be more suitable for persons with little to no experience. At Bathsheba, there are also several rum shops where you can drink like a local and try some of the island’s local delicacies.
Nikki Beach
Although not technically an officially named beach, this luxury beach club offers access to a pristine and secluded beach. This is the first beach club of its kind in Barbados which opened last winter. It is located adjacent to Port Ferdinand and includes a restaurant, pool, beach access, oceanfront dining and entertainment. It is an all-day (and night!) full experience that you are guaranteed to enjoy.
