Here is your quick guide to celebrating Barbados 50 years of independence from the United Kingdom. Ever since 1966, we have been rejoicing, however, this year’s party is sure to the biggest one yet.
HISTORY
Barbados gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1966. Our relationship has always been peaceful with the UK, however, in 1949 we made a shift towards self-governing. Our separation was solidified in 1966 with the hoisting of our national flag.
