Saint Peter’s Bay is proud to announce Chef Mitchell Husbands has joined the culinary team as its new Executive Chef. With extensive experience working in fine dining and upscale restaurants in the Caribbean, Chef Husbands brings a unique culinary perspective and a blend of flavours to the resort. His all-day dining menu is now available at The Gazebo Bar & Grill.
Chef Husbands can be described as one of the most driven, promising chefs in the Caribbean. This fearless internationally acclaimed Barbadian chef has done it all from winning Barbados’ Chef of the Year in 2007 to Americas Chef’s Competition (ACF) in 2008 to Caribbean Chef of the Year in 2011. He further received two (2) consecutive gold medals as the captain of the Barbados culinary team in 2010 and 2011 before being honored by the Minister of Tourism and the Hon. Prime Minister of Barbados. Chef Husbands was also inducted into the Chef’s Hall of Fame of Excellence in 2011.
Before joining the team at Saint Peter’s Bay, the 2011 Caribbean Chef of the Year, spent eight (8) years as the Executive Chef at NonSuch Bay Resort, Antigua where he developed an impeccable reputation for his artistic style using the finest local ingredients to deliver mouth-watering cuisine.
Chef Husbands now brings his vast experiences to Saint Peter’s Bay where he debuts a menu with flavour-forward dishes at the beachside restaurant The Gazebo. Menu must-trys include Steamed Mussels served with light red curry sauce, a splash of ginger wine and garlic baguette to start or Crab Cakes crusted with peppercorns, wakame, shitake, edamame beans, soy and ginger jus; for the entrees you’ll enjoy exciting Caribbean flavours in the Fall off the Bone BBQ Ribs served with sticky tamarind glaze, cabbage slaw and mac-n-cheese or a Catch of the Day served with garlic mash potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and caper butter sauce.
